Beautiful, hand-crafted, wheel-thrown, stoneware in historical reproduction designs. Each locally made piece is crafted individually in the studio of master potter Kimberly Zerbst. Sold exclusively in the world renowned Charleston City Market since 1999.

Our Story

Charleston Pottery was a hobby at first for a stay at home mom. It quickly turned into a thriving business. Charleston Pottery got its name in honor of a historic pottery studio located on the corner of South Market and State in Charleston South Carolina. After inclusion in several Hollywood blockbusters Kimberly's pottery became highly sought after worldwide. After 15 years in the market, we now have the honor of overlooking the original sight of Charleston's only historic pottery from pre-civil war Charleston. We are currently located in the Charleston City market on Thursdays and Fridays.

Each piece is made from a high fire stoneware indicative of traditional clay bodies used in 17th and 18th century crockery. Utilizing hand-brushed glazing techniques, Kimberly's designs echo those of early American potters.  Each piece is meticulously hand crafted in Charleston SC and is designed for use in the microwave, oven, and dishwasher.
